Radio Frequency Lesioning (Nerve Block)
This is a technically advanced mode of nerve block which selectively blocks pain fibers and leaves the rest of the function of the nerves intact like the motor functions. This is done with a special electrode that is used in neurosurgery and the results are good and have a long lasting effect. Certain pain conditions are suitable for this procedure like facet joint, sacroiliac joint and chronic headaches. This is also used for trigeminal neuralgia and pain due to neuroma.
