TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA

Trigeminal Neuralgia, which is also known as “tic douloureux” is a neuropathic disorder of one or both of trigeminal nerves. This condition results in an agonizing facial pain in either or all of scalp, forehead, ear, eye, nose, lips, teeth or jaw on one side of the face.

Trigeminal Neuralgia usually develops in middle age people and found more commonly in women. The condition could result in stabbing, mind numbing, electric shock like pain from just a finger’s glance of the cheek.

Though effective medical treatments are available sometimes interventional pain management modalities such as radio frequency ablation offers better relief.
